Why is my Magellan Roadmate 2000 interfering with my radio when plugged into the cigarette lighter? I have a Magellan Roadmate 2000 vehicle GPS (got it for Christmas). It is suction cupped onto the windshield, and has a car adaptor for power. When the adaptor is plugged both into the cigarette lighter and the unit, my FM and AM radio stations get much more staticky, with wierd buzzings and such. As soon as I unplug the adaptor from either the unit or the cigarette lighter, it stops. Obviously the power or something is causing the interference, but is this normal? Is something broken or malfunctioning? Magellan customer support is virtually non existant so I''ve gone to the next best thing...the people! Thanks for your help. It may be operating on the same megahertz as the first responder said, but also I'd be curious why I notice it on some other stations too that are in different spots on the dial?
Can I purchase an instruction book for my Magellan Roadmate. I lost the one that came with it.? I bought a Magellan Roadmate last Novemeber and I have misplaced or lost my instruction book. I am having problems operating the system and need a book.

Magellan Roadmate 1412 GPS not working? I recently purchased a Magellan Roadmate 1412 GPS. I charged it up three hours already, it is difficult to turn on even after pressing one to two seconds, the Magellan screen shows up but the progress bar does not move. Do I need to register it first and activate the GPS with serial number before it works or what? do I have to do anything with the CD first? or do I need to return it?
Why does my Magellan Roadmate 300 not find satelite signals quickly? It takes literally hours for it to find signal. Just upgraded to the latest firmware and software levels.

Magellan roadmate 2000 help PLEASE!? My Magellan roadmate is not providing voice instructions or displaying the street I'm on when I perform a route. The maneuver information at the bottom of the screen is not showing, nor is the current street I'm on which normally displays at the top of the screen. All it does is show me the map, and the default pink outlining that shows me the route I should take, and traces the route as I drive it. I When I first purchased the Roadmate (on Friday) it was working fine, but this started yesterday, and I need the voice instruction. Please help me!
Magellan RoadMate 300? My RoadMate 300 wasn't working corretly so I tried to reinstall the same firware version again and I guess I corrupted the software. Magellan want's $144 for it and they said I might be able to fix it. How do I fix it if I can't even turn on the machine? Thanks, Rom
Can I update the maps in my Magellan GPS? I recently purchased a Magellan Roadmate 1412 GPS. This is first GPS of this brand that I've gotten. Apparently the maps are stored on an SD card. Does Magellan provide updates for their GPSes? If so, does it usually mean buying a new SD card with updated maps on it?

Magellan RoadMate 300 Problems? Whenever I put in an address, the Navigation System either says that there is no such address or when it says.... EX: Turn left but the machine says to turn right and the little picture is always going south. It also says my map is over 1 year old. How can I get rid of all these problems? Thanks, Rom

Magellan Roadmate 300 110v Plug In? Anyone know good sites (beside Magellan who doesn't seem to carry it even though they display the pic on their site) where I could buy the 110v (for in the house electrical) plug in? I'm otherwise lovin' my new GPS! No I'm not looking for USB but thanks anyway. :-) I just want a basic household 110v so I can bring it inside, add new addresses and routes and trips to it (on the existing map). Which Car GPS is best when it comes to updating maps? I just moved into a new residential development and my Magellan RoadMate 800 does not have the latest map. I have search the internet and found that i cannot update maps. I want to buy a new GPS that would allow me to update maps.
Best car gps under or around 250 dollars? I'm looking for a decent car gps navigation system that's under or around $250. It will be replacing my Magellan Roadmate 360, which has some serious issues. First, it doesn't have retail stores beyond restaurants and gas stations listed in the points of interest database. Second, it requires you to put in the township/district instead of the real city or town name when putting in an address, which is pretty impossible to determine beforehand. So basically, I'm looking for something with a big points of interest database and easy address input. It also must have a "most use of freeways" or something similar, because I've used GPS systems that take you on dumb local roads instead of interstates when you're going long distances.

TomTom one or Maggelan roadmate 2000 or Garmin StreetPilot i3 Vehicle GPS Navigator? Hi I am about to purchase a gps car navigation unit, basically I am driving from MO to Orlando and back and think it would be better than mapquest. Of these two that I mentioned above, what would you recommend and what are the pros and cons if you have experienced any? The Magellan and Garmin are almost a hundred bucks cheaper but the Tomtom seem to have more features , I don't know! But these are the three cheapest models out there. Thanks people.
How do I update maps through PC application for Magellan roadmate GPS? I'm looking through the user documentatiion (CD) and through the instruction packets and I don't see anything on it. I've got my GPS connected through a UPS cable to my computer with the USer doc CD in, and nothing seems to be happening. How do I update the PC application as it is asking me to do on the GPS screen?
Magellan Roadmate 300? I just bought this thig and I am aggravated. It came with a West region SD card which was blank! I get no detailed maps. How do I upload maps to this dumb this. I bought 2 other programs to try to fix the issue. Roadmate Manager from magellan wont download of course. I bought the Magellan MapSend Direct Route software and stil nothing. So now I have the Delorme Street Atlas 2007 USA and still nothing. the files are not readable on the GPS. Can anyone help?
Affordable GPS system for college student? So im about to graduate high school and one of the things i want to buy before i go to college is a portable GPS system. I have an add from Dell where they advertise two GPS systems for $159 and this is really about the price range im looking for, something under 200 would be amazing, but i want it to work well too! so there is a Pharos Drive 150 (which is cute and pink lol), and a Magellan Roadmate 1200 for this price... anyone have experience with either of these? or any other affordable GPS systems?

GPS - do overcast days like in central ohio affect GPS? I tried a gps - it worked on and off, and I wonder if the weather can have a large affect on its ability to perform. Fix my fried GPS? So basically, I attempted to hardwire my gps (Magellan) to my car a while back. Someone told me they successfully hardwired their GPS (Magellan) to their car by just snipping of the end and running it to the car battery. I did just that and once I connected my gps to the plug, the screen went crazy and shut off. It doesn't turn on at all and I'm assuming I fried my gps. I contacted Magellan, and followed their directions but I still have failed to turn it back on. So basically, can it be fixed? or is it worth it to fix? Its a Magellan Roadmate 1200 that I got from CC during Black Friday for $125. -Thanks From what I have read, Magellan has really bad customer service and that it is really difficult to get an authorization number to send it in.
