Which GPS maker is better for hand held GPS units Magellan or Garmin?

Garmin reasonably priced, easy to read.
I reccomend garmin as they are excellent for geocaching.I have owned the legend for several years and its great.The only downside to teh legend is that its a serial port not USB. You can get older software on ebay for pretty cheap. The best thing I like about my legend though is its size, very small.
Magellan is fine if you don't mind loading the waypoints by hand, but if you're running pocket queries to get several caches along a route, or you want to load every cache within a certain county, a Garmin with a cable is indispensable. For the model, I prefer Etrex Legend, Vista or Map60 because the maps help me figure out where I am supposed to park to get out and look for the cache. But if you only search for one cache at a time, you can print out a map and take it with you, and then just go out with the cheapest yellow Extrex. .
