If you have a personal prefrence on the model please let me know that too. Thanks alot. I'm really into geocaching and I do alot of hiking in North Carolina. Please give your reasons for picking the brand that you picked. If you have a model that you really like please let me know about it too. Thanks alot.

- Garmin reasonably priced, easy to read.
- I reccomend garmin as they are excellent for geocaching.I have owned the legend for several years and its great. The only downside to teh legend is that its a serial port not USB. You can get older software on ebay for pretty cheap. The best thing I like about my legend though is its size, very small.
- Magellan is fine if you don't mind loading the waypoints by hand, but if you're running pocket queries to get several caches along a route, or you want to load every cache within a certain county, a Garmin with a cable is indispensable. For the model, I prefer Etrex Legend, Vista or Map60 because the maps help me figure out where I am supposed to park to get out and look for the cache. But if you only search for one cache at a time, you can print out a map and take it with you, and then just go out with the cheapest yellow Extrex. .
