Magellan GPS/Google Earth?

There are extra numbers in the coordinates I got from Google Earth than I can put in my Magellan Explorist 200. GE gives 38 09' 54.36 N, but GPS only would let me put in 38 54.360 N. Did I drop the correct coordinate or should I try something else?

  1. You are using different formats. In Google Earth you can change you preferences in the by going to File, Preferences and then changing to Degrees, Decimal Minutes. There is a problem however that will arise if you want to mark a point in Google Earth in that it does not accept that format when marking a point. So I'd suggest that you change your Magellan Explorist preferences to use the Degrees, Minutes, Seconds format so it will be compatible with Google Earth.
